Ethiopia: Ethiopian Airlines and ANA Joined Hands


Ethiopian AirlinesEthiopian Airlines concluded a code-share agreement with the Japanese airline group, ANA.
The agreement is said to enable the traveling public enjoy, starting from Sunday, October 26, 2014, a flawless bookings on ANA and Ethiopian Airlines Network from Japan to 49 African destinations. This is going to be done, according to the press release by Ethiopian, by joint connecting airports of the two airlines in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Paris, London, on all code shared flights.
Back in December 2011, the two airlines launched joint Frequent Flyer Program as they are both members of the Star Alliance.
The press release furthered, customers of the two airlines will continue to be able to earn and redeem miles on all flights.
Commenting on the development Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Tewolde Gebremariam, said: "I wish to thank ANA, a fellow Star Alliance member, for this mutually beneficial code share partnership. Our code share partnership will give our customers traveling between Africa and Japan the best possible connectivity options with one ticket and one single check-in at first boarding airport. It will also play critical role in enabling greater people-to-people, investment, trade and tourism ties between a rising Africa, the second fastest growing region in the world, and a highly industrialized Japan, the third largest economy in the world.
President and CEO of ANA, Osamu Shinobe, on his part said, "We are pleased to welcome Ethiopian Airlines which has the largest network in Africa as our code-share partner and look forward to working together to bring our customers greater choice and convenience across our combined Japanese and African networks."
