The Ethiopian foreign ministry said its security forces are on alert against Alshabaab attacks.

Ambassador Taye Atsle Selassie from that ministry told that to international diplomats in Addis Ababa yesterday.
This followed after the US Embassy in Addis Ababa said it has credible information that Al Shabaab are planning to carry out attacks at Boole area in Addis Ababa where there are many hotels, other business premises and bars frequented by foreigners.
The warning was posted on the website of the US foreign affairs department and in that warning the US government advised its citizens to avoid that area.
On the other hand, the US ambassador to Ethiopia, Patricia Haslach said his embassy will not under estimate the ability of the Ethiopian security apparatus to combat terror activities.
