Premier - Ethiopia Implementing Integrated Green Growth Strategy


Assuming an international responsibility and setting a long-term vision, Ethiopia has been implementing an integrated green growth strategy, Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn has said.The Premier made the remark at the fourth Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) in which Ethiopia is partaking as a partner.
At the two-day forum, the participants reflected on how to ensure that billions of middle class consumers in 2030 can live prosperous lives without compromising the opportunities for future generations.
They also envisaged how the power of brands and governments can influence future consumer trends and societal norms in all regions of the world.
Prime Minister Hailemariam explained to the forum that since three years ago, Ethiopia has been striving to realize a climate resilient economy.
Accordingly, he said, the country has managed to harness bigger renewable energy and sustain its double-digit economic growth.
The country registered tangible progress over the past eleven years, he added.
The premier highlighted the significance of the forum for Ethiopia and expressed his government's readiness to work closely with partners on issues of climate change.
Besides Ethiopia, Denmark, Kenya, Mexico, South Korea and Qatar presented their best practices at the forum.
